The Department of Educational Administration and Secondary Education is a multifaceted department which offers teacher and principal preparation programs. Secondary Teacher certification on the undergraduate and graduate levels is offered in the following disciplines: English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Students with an interest in pursuing certification in the above disciplines at the undergraduate level must apply for admission in the appropriate School (see below). Certification in Spanish is offered only on the undergraduate level. There are additional programs with a secondary education emphasis in other Schools (see below).
EASE also offers courses leading to a certificate in Supervision. Additionally, candidates may complete a Masters Degree or Post-Masters in Educational Leadership. Both the certificate and the Masters Degree require the applicant to have successfully completed a Bachelor’s Degree and teaching and or other school related experiences.
All programs and activities in the Department correlate with the mission of The College of New Jersey, the Plan for the School of Education and the Conceptual Framework of the School of Education. These programs and activities have won numerous awards and accolades from internal and external sources. Teacher and administrative graduates are highly recruited within the state, nationally, and globally.
